Print Methods

Offset Printing

Offset printing is typically reserved for high-quantity orders or definite re-orders, and uses etched metal plates to apply ink onto a sheet of paper. This style of printing results in prints that look clean and sharp. Paperboard + Offset Printing is unrivaled for high resolution printing of product shots, flesh tones, or other high-end graphics.

Digital Printing

Digital printing is a newer option that applies ink directly to the paper, which means shorter press runs and faster turnaround times. The 4- color process inks used in digital printing produce gorgeous colors that will make your prints pop. Due to the nature of digital printing, the colors can vary slightly from the original artwork and there are no coating options available. Digital is generally reserved for short runs (less than 500 boxes) or “one-off” jobs not likely to repeat.

CMYK (Process) Printing

Looking for a way to add some serious pizazz to your prints? CMYK printing is the way to go! When you print using CMYK colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black), you’ll be able to create beautiful full-color prints that are eye-catching and vibrant. This printing process uses 4 colors to create millions of different color combinations, making it perfect for anything that requires a lot of color or imagery. CMYK printing is cost-effective, making it a great choice for smaller projects.

Pros: Full Color Capabilities, Millions of Color Options, Cost Effective

Pantone Matching System (PMS)

Pantone Matching System (PMS) is the worldwide standard for color communication and matching. These pre-mixed, 100% accurate colors are perfect for use in corporate identities, logo designs, and stationary designs because they are always consistent. PMS colors are precise, sharp, and bright, making them an excellent choice for 1-3 color jobs. While there are less color options than CMYK, there is usually a Pantone color to match a CMYK color extremely close. For an added touch of luxury, add a metallic ink to mimic foil stamping.

Pros: Consistent Color, Metallic Inks Available (cost-effective solution for substituting foil stamping), Sharp and Brighter Colors, Excellent for 1-3 Color Jobs or Company Branding Needs
